Report: Rockets Get Commitment From Ryan Anderson, Seek One From Eric Gordon

By Salman Ali on July 2, 2016

The Rockets have finally made a splash, of sorts.

Adrian Wojnarowski of The Vertical reported Saturday afternoon that the Rockets and free agent forward Ryan Anderson have come to an agreement to a sum of $80 million.

The Rockets had just met with Anderson earlier that day and up until this point, had yet to make a signing. Anderson had been coveted by the Rockets for a long time and the hiring of Mike D'Antoni presented a unique opportunity for both parties to finally come together considering the fit.

Along with Anderson, Wojnarowski reports that the Rockets are also in the market for former New Orleans guard Eric Gordon.

"The Rockets, league sources said, are pushing to get a commitment from another New Orleans free agent:Eric Gordon. Gordon will be meeting with Rockets officials later on Saturday in Southern California." - Adrian Wojnarowski.
The Rockets have about roughly $22 million in cap room left to play with after the Ryan Anderson signing (including Donatas Motiejunas' cap hold of $5.7 million).
