Adrian Wojnarowski of The Vertical has reported that the Rockets will match Donatas Motiejunas’ offer sheet from the Brooklyn Nets. With the organization deciding to match the offer, this means that Motiejunas will stay with the Rockets.

The fiasco has finally come to an end. In the locker room, the entire Rockets team has to be pretty happy that Motiejunas is going to stay with them. He brings a whole new dynamic to the team that they can really use. His post moves and ability to stretch the floor will really help their offense, as if it needed any more help. Many feel that Mike D’Antoni can bring out the best in Motiejunas going forward.

Do not expect Motiejunas to be the starting power forward. Ryan Anderson will remain the starter going forward. But when it comes to late-game situations, it is a possibility that Motiejunas can take over Anderson’s spot due to Anderson’s defensive woes. He can also play both the power forward and center position, so it is a possibility that Nene’s minutes will start to see a decline.

Rocket fans should be happy about this move. The team overall has been playing very well and are looking like one of the better teams in the Western Conference. If Motiejunas can stay healthy and play to his full potential, this team can make a run for the Western Conference Finals. The Rockets currently sit at 13-7 and play tonight against the Boston Celtics.
