Report: Rockets Emerging as Serious Threat to Sign Chris Paul

Marc Stein of ESPN has reported the Rockets are becoming serious threats to sign Chris Paul in Free Agency. It recently came out that Paul is planning to meet with the Rockets when Free Agency starts on July 1st.

James Harden seems to be locked in on Paul coming to Houston. Stein has also reported he is determined on landing the All-Star point guard and has reached out to Paul.

There might be something going on the public does not know about. This is not the first time there has been a report about the Rockets being legitimate contenders to lure Paul from the Clippers.

Once again, Daryl Morey finds a way to keep the Rockets in the conversation for top free agents. Every summer, Rockets fans have become accustomed to the organization being in the mix to land stars to put alongside James Harden. While GM Daryl Morey has struck out on landing some stars, just to keep the team in the mix for them every year is impressive.

As of right now, there seems to be enough smoke to justify these reports. It actually seems like the Rockets might be serious suitors for Paul. But if there's one-thing Rockets fans have learned over the years, it's to not get their hopes up. For the time being, they deserve to be excited, though. He was close to signing with the team in 2013, so there is reason to believe these reports are true. As Free Agency is less than a week away, Rockets fans will likely see an increase in blood pressure (and reporting).
