James Harden Named Player of the Month for November

James Harden has been named the Western Conference Player of the Month for the month of November. This is Harden's fifth time winning the award, with all of them happening in a Rockets uniform.

For the month, Harden averaged 34.9 PPG, 10.1 APG and 5.5 RPG. He was one point away from joining Oscar Robertson as the only players in NBA history to average 35 and 10 for a calendar month. He shot 46.8 percent from the field, 43.2% on 3's and 89.1 percent from the charity stripe.

Along with the stats from Harden, the Rockets had a fantastic month of November. The team went 12-1 with Harden leading the way while Chris Paul was dealing with an injury for the first half of the month.

Through the quarter mark of the season, Harden has led the way in the MVP race. If voting happened right now, there is a chance he wins the award unanimously. He has the Rockets at the top of the Western Conference with a 17-4 record. People knew the Rockets were going to be this good, but not this good and certainly not this quickly.

If this play keeps up from Harden, it won't be the last Player of the Month Award he wins this year. This is the best basketball Harden has played in his career and the Rockets are at the top of the league because of it.
